Just wanted to throw a shout-out to my favorite Popeyes location. It’s a bit of a drive to get to one, but I’ve never regretted it, and I don’t think I ever will. I might have also had mashed potatoes, and they also may have been awesome. Both are awesome, as were the Cajun Battered Fries. The Delta Mini is a chicken tender served on a bun with their Delta sauce, while the Chicken Biscuit is on a biscuit (duh) with your choice of either hot sauce or honey. On a recent trip, I ordered a Delta Mini and a Chicken Biscuit (and if you think that’s all I ordered, you are crazy). The thing with Popeyes is when I get to the order window, I like so much of their menu I always have a hard time deciding what to get. Have I tested the waters with other places? Sure. Here we are 10 years later, and Popeyes is the only place I get my fried chicken. The cajun gravy was so good I wanted to use it for toothpaste ( maybe I’m exaggerating, just a little). The biscuits were delicious, but the mashed potatoes were where it was at. All I could think was, after trying it, why wasn’t there a Popeyes near my home, and why had I waited so long to try it? The chicken was juicier than Kentucky Fried Chicken and was spiced up really nicely. I stop and order some fried chicken ( spicy, of course), nuggets, mashed potatoes, and biscuits. On that fateful night, I drove by a Popeyes on my way to an apartment my family had rented in North Miami Beach. I remember seeing Popeyes around, but I never tried it till about 2001. ![]() Let me count the ways! My sister Michelle and I grew up eating Kentucky Fried Chicken ( KFC is the acronym for you newbies). All you need to do is pop it in the oven to heat, and then it’s time to eat!
